New Horizons

Four days should equal a short week, but today seemed like two days all rolled into one. For some reason, this has been one long day. It's possible I can attribute that to many rewrites, but it's just been one of those days.

Sports fever! Catch it!

I've been working on acheapseat.com all day and have just been longing to head to a ballgame, grab a hot dog and soak up some rays while watching some major league action. That's what the summer's for--fun. I don't have enough of it. I think a road trip to see a Diamondbacks game might be in order soon since I can't see my beloved Pirates or even my second favorite team, the Tribe.

I miss the days of having a major league team in my own backyard.

Of course it would be nice to combine yesterday's post with today's. Landing a marlin and then catching a Marlins' game. I just hope I don't get my events confused and land a hook in a player...

Caring

Sometimes I find that people don't when they try to cut corners in what isn't a job that requires knowledge of rocket science. Maybe that's why those people are no longer here.

On another note, my mind wandered to the Florida Keys...ok, not only because I heard the song Kokomo, but also because a client I wrote for today had a condo rental property down there.

Post Holiday Blues

Starting back to work after a three day weekend is never easy but when the three days were replete with bad luck that ended up with a broken trunk, it's even more difficult.

Running on little sleep and exhausted, there's little creative spark today but managed to squeeze out quality content for stonepassiongallery.com.

I do have to say that some of the fixtures looked incredible. It makes me almost want to hit the progressive trying to get enough to 1) get the home, then 2) get the concrete bathroom showers and countertops.

Fridays...

...are the reasons business invented Mondays...to give you just enough of a taste of freedom before reigning you back in. They are something to look forward to each week which keeps us excited from Monday to Thursday. Depending upon who you are and your lifestyle as a weekend warrior, they are also sometimes known as "blurs". ;)

Quality vs. quantity

When hammering out content for new clients, I tend to favor quality, well thought out topics inserting the keywords logically in order to make the whole idea flow easier.

Right now, I am working on an SEO for Alisa Riley (www.alisariley.com) and, though it is a big one, I've found it relatively easy to write. I could easily just find content that has already been written or cannibalize my own prior writing to get it done much quicker, but I find that when I am on a roll creatively, it is better to take your time.

After all, slow and steady wins the race and, hopefully, in the end, the quality of the content will drive people to the site!

It's funny how a warped, creative twist occurs once one is over the hump on a sunny Wednesday and the long, holiday weekend looms ahead.

My hopes are that it can continue everyday and things become a little more free now that the blog posts aren't completely about work.
